La Paloma Academy Students Awarded Top Honors at Regional Science Fair

Three students from La Paloma Academy, southern Arizona’s largest charter school, were recently recognized for their award-winning science projects at the Southern Arizona Regional Science Engineering Fair (SARSEF), held at the Tucson Convention Center.

  • Sixth grader Falan Hall received a scholarship and a calculator from Texas Instruments as a third-place winner for her project “Which Local News Show Has the Most Accurate Weather Forecast?”
  • Fifth grader Isaac Daily received a check from Southwest Gas and an honorable mention for his project  “What Factors Affect Burning?”
  • Seventh grader Amber McLain won the seventh-grade Grand Award and second-place Individual Award for her project “What’s in Our Water (and What Does It Mean?).”. Her award winnings included a trophy and $50.00.

The three progressed to the SARSEF event after winning top places in the annual La Paloma Academy Science Fair.

La Paloma Academy serves the larger Tucson community via three campuses for students in grades K-8.
