Charter Staffers Go Above and Beyond for a Worthy Cause

What are you willing to do to motivate students and staff? Arizona charter school teachers show that they’re willing to go above and beyond the call of duty. At a pep assembly earlier this spring Sonoran Science Academy junior Tyler Robbins had the “honor” of shaving off teacher Bill Bennett’s beard – a beard he had worn with pride for 37 years! Bennett agreed to have the beard shaved off if Sonoran Science Academy generated $30,000 in Arizona School Tax Credits. Bennet is the school’s robotics instructor.

Bennett is not the only Arizona charter staffer to sacrifice hair follicles for a good cause. Toni Post, principal at Northland Preparatory Academy in Flagstaff, recently dyed her hair pink as part of a schoolwide challenge to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
